When the robber goes to rest after his adventures, Jenny places water into his black powder, delivering his gun inadequate. She is setting him up to be caught. 

The following morning as the thief adventures out once more, he winds up trapped by Captain Farrell and his footmen. He attempts to take shots at them, yet his gun will not work because the powder is wet. He goes after his sabre, yet the tricky Jenny has effectively taken it from him. Delivered vulnerable, he is caught and taken prisoner. While in prison, he reviles his tricky Jenny yet doesn't wait in despair for long.
